Director of Contemporary Worship

First Presbyterian Church of Newark, CA, seeks a Director of Contemporary Worship to help begin and establish a new contemporary worship service. FPCN is a loving and vibrant community of 200 that is looking forward to beginning an additional worship service designed for young adults and young families.

The new position being created, Director of Contemporary Worship, will be a part-time, paid position requiring a time commitment of approximately ten hours weekly.

The successful candidate will have some experience in planning and leading contemporary worship and should be a good musician and singer. Director should be able to read music. Candidate must be a committed team player. A statement of faith will be requested.

Director will plan the contemporary service (with help from the Minister of Music and Worship as needed) and shall be responsible for the contemporary worship service of the church.
Responsibilities will generally include:

- Plan services well in advance and lead the contemporary service with the help of volunteers
- Plan and direct weekly rehearsal
- Continue to enhance and add to the worship/praise experience of the contemporary service
- Report to Minister of Music and Worship

Estimated weekly time commitment: 10 hours
